SAN DIEGO: Smores' First Beach Trip

Today Cris and I took Smores to Mission Bay (the nice part) on her first beach trip.  She had so much fun, but hated the water!!  Our nephew, Nathaniel, tried to make her go in the water, but she dug her heels in!

We also tried the Tioli's Crazy Burger place in North Park, featured on the Food Network Show, "Dinners, Drive-ins, and Dives."  They feature Gator, Ostrich, Kangaroo and other crazy burgers.  We took my mom and we all tried a little of the Kangaroo, Gator and Buffalo burgers.  Cris said he could taste the difference, but my mom and I did not...I guess he has a more sophisticated pallet than us. :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Merry Christmas everyone in every place!  After two mini-Christmas' with The Cisneros' and The Sink's, including Grandma and Grandpa Glassford, we made the trek to San Diego.  The weather was nice the first day we got here (Tues. the 23rd), but has rained ever since.

At this wonderful time of the year, we are reflecting highly on the many blessings that we have.  We gave a talk on the true meaning of Christmas two Sunday's ago at church and really believe the words of President Thomas S. Monson, "The spirit of Christmas is indeed the Christ spirit," and Ralph Waldo Emerson, "Rings and jewels are not gifts, but apologies for gifts.  The only gift is a portion of thyself."  This leads us to look at our individual family's traditions and decide what we want as our new family traditions.  We want to use this idea and learn to serve others during this season instead of expecting gifts.  Our children will follow our tradition started with our very first Christmas together, making gifts for each other, and the tradition we started this year, telling the person that gave the gift what they mean to you and how you appreciate them, along with other traditions we will pull from each of our families.

We are so blessed to have health, happiness, love and many wonderful family and friends.  We are also both able to work and finish school.  The Lord loves all of us and wants us to be happy!  Remember that through all our trials of life.  Love all of you and Merry Christmas wherever you are~

Love, Jen and Cris

End of a Semester

It is officially the end of the semester with grades to boot!  We ended with a pretty good GPA (A's for Jen and B's for Cris) and we are anxious to have our much needed and much deserved break.  Now that Cris is going to be a teacher, then administrator he is getting used to these breaks becoming common place.

Soon we will be moving into our new house!  We are so excited.  It was snowing in Vegas a couple of days ago and again yesterday.  They declared all school closed here in Clark County and we have a snow day!  WOW!!  Never thought that we would have a SNOW DAY!  Because of all the inclement weather, however, our house has come to a halt in being ready.  Soon we will get back to putting the A/C and heater unit on the roof and the last touches to move in. :)

Happy Birthday, Cris!

Today is Cris' birthday.  We went to our favorite dining establishment, Sushi Mon, close to our home.  Then we went to Madagascar 2 with some family.  It was so much fun!  Happy 31st, honey! :)

Last night we went to Geisha Steakhouse with our really close friends, Liz and Eddie.  We miss hanging out with them so this was a real treat.

SEPTEMBER - Birthday Month!

We had my birthday party at Claim Jumpers with tons of friends and family!

This is from the birthday month of September...Caden and Jen share the same b-day so SUSHI we went! :)  Also, Lindalu's b-day is in the same month so we decided to let her tag along! :)

Our new dog, Smores

We just got a new dog today.  She is 1/2 lab and 1/2 rotty.  She is 7 weeks old and she looks like a little teddy bear.  We named her Smores.  Isn't she adorable!?!  And Bella seems to really love her!

Halloween - Trunk or Treat with Gma, Gpaw and the Sinks

We are farmers with Bella as our rooster.  Halloween was a blast, although Jen was handing out candy to the kiddos, so she didn't really get any warm chili.  Oh, well!  Better luck next year :)

Pumpkin Carving with the Sinks

We are at the Sinks carving pumpkins!  We had so much fun and Bella even helped! :)  Unfortunately, we carved these pumpkins a week before Halloween and they got yucky black mold in them...next year we will carve pumpkins right before Halloween.
